ENGLISH LANGUAGE FOUNDATIONS
Program Description
The English Language Foundations program is designed to help both immigrants to Canada and international students develop the English proficiency needed to be successful at SAIT, and in an English-speaking work environment.
English Language Foundations uses the Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessment (CLBA), a recognized tool for measuring English language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We can describe, very precisely at what level you need to begin studying and the communication skills you need to prepare for success.
SAIT's English Language Foundations (ELF) program can help you gain the essential English skills you need to qualify for admission to a SAIT career program. The program is delivered on campus in eight-week semesters. Completion of a full-time program through all four levels takes a minimum of 32 weeks.
Your Career
Upon successful completion of your upgrading courses you can meet the admission requirements for many of the post secondary programs offered here at SAIT. and most other post-secondary education institutions.
