MILLWRIGHT

Program Description

This 12-week program is a great way to start your career in the trade. Millwrights, also known as industrial mechanics install, troubleshoot and maintain industrial equipment such as compressors, pumps and turbines.

You will gain a wide range of knowledge in such areas as machine assembly, blueprint reading, bearing fitting, power transmission, shaft alignment, hydraulics, and drive systems maintenance. Learning the basic machine shop, welding techniques, use of precision measurement tools and testing equipment will prepare you to successfully enter the industry.

Throughout the first eight weeks of the program course material will focus on Millwright machine shop skills and technology. In the final four weeks you will cover power transmission, compressors and pumps. Trained in basic machining, electrical and welding techniques, and precision measurement tools and testing equipment, this program prepares you for success in this rapidly growing industry.
