CABINETMAKER

Program Description

Learn what it takes to design build and repair wood components, furniture, fixtures and cabinetry. You will learn to build and repair production or custom type fixtures and furniture made of wood or wood substitutes. Working from Cabinetmakers layout this 12 week course teaches you how to successfully assemble wood or wood substitute products.

Program fees cover all course material required by a first year cabinetmaker apprentices, plus additional hands-on skills and safety training. The program prepares you to enter the workforce as an apprentice, and on successful completion of the program, to write the first year Cabinetmaker apprenticeship exam. Working indoors in either a commercial or residential setting, this apprentice may require you to lift objects in excess of 25 kilograms.
