AUTOMATION AND INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN

 In the Automation and Instrument Technician program, you'll learn to install, maintain and repair the measuring and control instruments used in industrial and commercial processing and manufacturing. You will work with a wide variety of pneumatic, electronic and microcomputer instruments used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, level, and chemical composition.

  • Measurement and Calibration
  • Electrical Theory and Safety
  • Final Control Elements
  • Introduction to the Canadian Petroleum Industry

Your Career

The Automation and Instrument Technician program provides training for a career as a technician, as well as an opportunity to get into the instrumentation trade without first being indentured. Upon completion of the program, successfully writing the first and second period TQ exams, and becoming indentured, you can complete your apprenticeship while employed.
