MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

Program Description

The Mechanical Engineering Technology program focuses on designing and utilizing mechanical devices, components and products. You will graduate a well-rounded technologist, able to pursue a career in a wide variety of industries. As a student, you will receive theoretical and practical training in machine design, fabrication, engineering materials, and 3-D solid modeling. The program also covers areas such as fluid power, thermodynamics and engineering economics.

There are a great variety of careers in product design, application engineering, design/drafting, technical sales, manufacturing engineering, plant engineering and technical inspection. Mechanical engineering technologists are involved in almost every sector of the economy including manufacturing, oil and gas, utilities and construction.

Your Career

You may find work in a large number of careers including product designers, equipment designers, applications technologists, project managers, shop managers, CAD operators and technical sales.
