DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY

Program Description

Ultrasound, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography, is a technology involving the application of high-frequency sound waves on patients to help physicians in medical diagnoses.

As a student you will study key aspects of ultrasound technology at our Centre for Advanced Diagnostic Imaging. The program also includes six clinical practica, which may take place in a variety of places, even outside of Alberta. This is an opportunity to integrate learning with the practical setting.

You can expect to be placed outside of Calgary for a minimum of two eight-to-12-week rotations and return to SAIT campus as required for classes in the second and third year of the program.
