BAKING AND PASTRY ARTS
Program Description
Create an artistic masterpiece - and then eat it! The Baking and Pastry Arts diploma is designed to fill the demand by industry for people trained in all areas of baking and patisserie.
You will learn everything from artisan bread and pastry production to creating sugar show pieces and modern desserts.
Your first year of training, you will learn to create and produce breads, buns and rolls using the natural sponge and sourdough methods, yeast-raised sweet and savory products. Your first year will also include an instruction to the decorative art and creative specialty cakes, flans, tortes, sheet cakes and squares.
Your second year will include more specialized production of pastry items and display pieces including wedding cakes and chocolate fundamentals.
