Program Description

Does building robots sound like something you want to do? As a graduate of the Automated Systems Engineering Technology program, you help companies stay competitive by automating their processes. In this program, you will be focusing on the applications of automation in the manufacturing and material handling industries, as well as the oil and gas sector. In this program you will be learning about the applications of automation, robotics and programmable logic controller (PLC) systems.

Within the program, you will learn about the mechanical principles underpin the technology and develop a foundation in manufacturing techniques and facility planning.

Your Career

You will find work as automated systems engineering technologist. This type of work may include opportunities in system integration, automated systems, production and facilities planning, automated design and technical sales. Careers are available in the manufacturing, processing and energy sectors.

Example Student Project

Team EMERCORE - A proof of concept project for EMERCORE. The project objective is to automate the process of injecting insulating foam into Rimboard by programming a robot to automatically locate and fill injection sites.
