RAILWAY CONDUCTOR

Program Description

The Railway Conductor (RRCD) program will prepare you for a career as a railroad conductor in operations in the Canadian railway industry. As a conductor, you will be involved with achieving high levels of customer satisfaction through rail training while using safe and cost effective processes to maximize operations.

You will be responsible for switching and marshalling cars, making up trains in rail yards, or moving cars between yards, sidings or tracks according to instructions originating with yard and train planners as well as Network Management Centres.

The railway industry overall is facing a high rate of turnover due to growth in the industry as well as high levels of retirements. There has been a very high demand in railway careers for skilled graduates.
