AIRCRAFT STRUCTURES TECHNICIAN

Program Description

Ever wonder what it takes to keep a plane air tight? Learn about aircraft structure repair with SAIT's Aircraft Structures Technician program. This one-year certificate covers all you need to know about composite structural components, skins and panels and boasts an employment rate of 100%.

You will repair everything that flies, including: corporate and charter planes, helicopters, and transport aircraft. SAIT has one of the best-equipped facilities in North America, with a comprehensive training facility that includes a 20, 000 sq ft hangar.

This program is approved by Transport Canada and the Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council. Upon completion, you may receive up to 11 months of credit towards obtaining your Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license.

Your Career

You are eligible to become an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) "S" license and will be able to inspect and certify the airworthiness of aircraft structures. There are up to 15 different groups of aircraft to specialize in.
