RESIDENCE AND SAFETY

How safe is the campus?

Our campus security can escort your student anywhere they need to go on campus. SAITSA’s Safewalk volunteers can accompany your student within a 10 block radius of SAIT.  SAITSA Campus Safewalk is open from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday to Friday. Students can pre book a Safewalk at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 284.SAFE (7233) anytime to arrange for a Safewalk.

SAIT Polytechnic also offers students the opportunity to sign up for SAITALERT - an opt-in voice/text emergency message service designed to provide students with timely information to support informed decisions in the event of an emergency on campus.

SAIT students will recieve an email explaining how to sign up for this free service at the start of the fall and winter semesters.

SAIT has a medical clinic on campus, complete with a chiropractor and massage therapist. So while your student is attending campus, they do not need to worry about finding a family physician.

Is Residence secure?

Residence is located on the northeast corner of campus and is equipped with 24 hour security and key card entry.

ACADEMICS

If my student is having trouble with classes, is there assistance available to them?

SAIT offers great support services. Our confidential Student Counselling and Tutoring Services, can be of enormous assistance in helping your student succeed.

SAIT also offers Advising Services for prospective and current students.

TUITION AND FEES

How much is my student’s tuition going to be?

Tuition varies from program to program. Check out the fee table to find out how much tuition and fees are going to cost.

When will my student receive their Education Tax Credit (T2202)?

T2202 are available on mySAIT.ca by the end of February. SAIT does not mail out tax receipts.

Are there scholarships and bursaries available to students?

Of course! SAIT offers 3.5 million in scholarships and bursaries. Students apply online for SAIT awards.

What kind of social opportunities are available at SAIT?

SAIT is home to a lot of great clubs, athletics and intramurals. The Gateway has movies , live music and great food at student prices.

Our Interfaith Advising Centre offers spiritual services to our multi-faith community. Residence provides students with tv and study lounges, or just a place to meet up.

Does SAIT have a Health and Dental plan available for students?

Yes. All full-time students are enrolled in a Health and Dental Plan. Students can opt out of the plan with proof of coverage. The falll opt-out deadlig is September 24, 2010. For students starting in January 2011, their deadline is January 28, 2011.
